Bible Study

We offer Bible studies for all ages and various life stages. The hub of our Bible study time is Sunday School, in which we offer weekly classes for preschoolers through senior adults. Other Bible study opportunities, usually organized around topics, are also available during the week. And, not to be overlooked, we value the clear teaching of God’s Word during our times of corporate worship.

Music

Music is a rich part of our church’s heritage. We believe God is pleased to receive our worship through song. To provide opportunities for worship at First Baptist Church, we have an adult choir, student (youth) choir, several worship teams, instrumental group, as well as congregational singing. In all of this, we desire to offer God our heartfelt, sincere praise and adoration. If you are a skilled musician, or someone who simply likes to make a “joyful noise” to the Lord, come join your heart and voice with ours to joyfully worship God.

There are many opportunities for participation in music and worship at First Baptist Church. Here is a list of music groups and the times they meet.

Youth (Grades 7-12)

The Xroads: (ˈkrȯs-rōdz) noun. a crucial point especially where a decision must be made.

That is how the dictionary defines the Xroads. Here at First Baptist Church, Birmingham, Alabama, we also define the Xroads as a crucial place where decisions are made. We realize that each student is on a journey called “life”. On this journey, there are many decisions to be made. During the teen years of one’s life, many of these crucial decisions are made. Decisions that will effect and determine the direction of one’s life.

We seek to be a help as students come to these Xroads in their lives. We look to give them support, encouragement, and direction from God’s word, the Bible.

Preschool and Children

Jesus loves kids, and so do we! We are pleased to offer a safe, loving, Christ-focused environment for your children. We have a quality nursery, excellent Sunday School classes, missions education, children’s choir, music camp during the summer, a weekday preschool program and Vacation Bible School.

Senior Adults

Come and join our active First Baptist Senior Adults! Events are planned bimonthly. These very from day trips, overnight retreats, holiday dinners, and special tea-room luncheons.
