At First Baptist Church of Birmingham we believe God has made us to be part of His family to bring glory to Him and to bless each other. We, as a church, exist to pursue four basic principles: Worship the Savior, Win the Lost, Disciple the Won, and Care for the Fellowship.
New Staff Member: Richard Shahan
We want to extend a warm welcome to our newest staff member, Richard Shahan. Richard is the new Pastor to Children and Families at First Baptist Church. He has been in ministry for over twenty years working in churches in Texas, Alabama, and North Carolina. Along with this experience, he is an accomplished author, conference leader, and curriculum designer.
Richard is married to Karen, and they have two sons (Colin and Kyle) and one daughter-in-law (Elizabeth). Richard has a passion to reach children and families for Christ and leave a legacy of faith. We look forward to what God is going to do through the Shahan family and in the family of First Baptist Church.
